Not sure what to wear to EMS? Ask your chosen studio before packing. Equipment and clothing arrangements can differ, and an ordinary gym kit should not be assumed to meet every EMS system’s requirements.
Confirm what the studio provides
Ask whether a base layer or training outfit is supplied, whether you need to bring anything specific, and whether there is an additional charge. Also confirm suitable footwear. Getting those answers before your appointment avoids a last-minute change of plan.
Keep your first-visit checklist simple
- Your appointment confirmation and studio location.
- The clothing and footwear requested by the team.
- Your questions about fit, comfort and preparation.
- Any information the team has asked you to bring for screening.
Ask about changing facilities rather than assuming they are available. If you plan to go straight to work afterwards, allow time for preparation and changing as well as the 20-minute session format.
Speak up about fit and comfort
Tell the coach if anything feels uncomfortable or does not fit properly before training starts. You should understand how to ask for a pause or stop. Clothing preparation is practical planning; it does not replace a suitability assessment.
